Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. This page lists the ones this site can set, and how to refuse them.
Categories we use
- Essential. Needed for the site to work: remembering that you dismissed the cookie notice, keeping a comment form session, and security checks. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- Analytics. Google Analytics records which pages are read, how long people stay and roughly where they are. We use aggregate numbers only, to decide what to publish and what to fix.
- Preferences. If you switch the site to its night reading mode, a cookie or local storage entry remembers that choice.
- Third party. Embedded videos and social sharing buttons may set their own cookies once you interact with them.
How to refuse cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see what is stored, delete it, and block third parties by default. Blocking analytics cookies does not stop you reading anything on this site.
Google also provides an opt-out add-on for its analytics service, and your device settings may offer a global “do not track” preference that some browsers now send automatically.
Consent
Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for it and honour your choice. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and choosing again.
Questions
If you want to know which cookies were set during your visit, write to us through the contact page. Our privacy policy explains how we handle the data those cookies collect.
