Accessibility
We want The Charter to be readable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation or high-contrast settings.
What we aim for
Our target is WCAG 2.1 level AA: sufficient colour contrast, text that resizes without breaking the layout, meaningful alt text on images that carry information, headings in a logical order, and full keyboard access to menus, search and forms.
What we are working on
- Reviewing contrast on small labels and captions.
- Adding alt text to older images published before this standard was applied.
- Checking that every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
- Making sure embedded video has captions where the source allows it.

Reading comfort
The site includes a night mode, and your browser’s own zoom, font-size and reader-mode settings work on every article.
