7 Questions to Ask on a First Date, According to a Relationship Expert

Love life is rarely a smooth ride, but you can prevent some problems by being more aware of what you’re getting into from the start.

Relationship expert James Thomas from the UK explained on Unilad the 7 questions to get a general overview of the person and see if things can go any further.

1 – “How do you relax?” This will give you a glimpse of their hobbies.

2 – “What’s the last thing you watched on TV without stopping?” What makes them tick?

3 – “Do you have a signature dish that you like to cook?” Do they like to cook, what are their tastes, and do you have that in common?

4 – “What would you like to learn new?” To see if their interests match yours and to understand their current priorities.

5 – “If the world ended tomorrow, what would you do?” Gives a good insight into the person’s personality and life priorities.

6 – “What’s the strangest thing you’ve bought online?” A way to take the pressure off and tell each other something funny (or maybe not, maybe you don’t have the same sense of humor).

7 – “What’s the best thing that happened to you this week?” Reveals whether the person can be happy with little things or needs a lot to feel good.

Don’t come with a list of questions to ask so as not to turn a first date into a job interview, these questions should be asked naturally in the flow of conversation.
